One Day
This year’s One Day, March 18, 2026, supports Waynflete Forward, our current capital campaign, with a focus on raising funds for the new Wellness and Athletics Center and The Waynflete Fund. To celebrate the Wellness and Athletics Center, and a community that prioritizes educating the whole child in mind, body, and spirit, we hope you will join us by participating in one or many of our wellness activities and supporting the school with a gift on One Day.
What is One Day?
One Day is Waynflete’s annual community-wide day of giving. A critical fundraising initiative, One Day encourages the community to come together in a collective effort to support the school. With emphasis on participation, One Day encourages donors and support throughout the Waynflete community on campus, and around the country and the world given a strong, digital component. On campus, the event brings great energy throughout the day, with special events and opportunities to celebrate the school and share gratitude, all the while encouraging community members to give back philanthropically.
What are the priorities of the Waynflete Forward Campaign?
Waynflete Forward is focused on establishing physical spaces that match the strength and integrity of our programs. Despite practical challenges, quirks, inefficiencies, and space constraints, our teachers deliver an exceptional curriculum day after day. When they are unhindered by these constraints, we know that expanded possibilities exist to further strengthen our programs and student outcomes.
The following priorities emerged in our comprehensive campaign study and are now part of the Waynflete Forward Campaign: an Wellness and Athletics Center, a Middle School Connector, a Campus Center, an Expanded Performing Arts Space, and a Remodeled Emery Building.
What is/was the process for building the Campaign?
In June 2022, our Board of Trustees adopted a Strategic Planning Process that outlined priorities for the next five years. Once adopted, the school embarked on a Campus Framework Plan from November 2022–May 2023. With the Campus Framework Plan established, the school began a Campaign Readiness Study to understand our community’s priorities and their interest in (and ability to support) these priorities. Following the Campaign Readiness Study, the Board approved the launch of the Waynflete Forward: Building our Future, Together campaign in November 2023. Construction for the first phase of the project, a new Wellness and Athletics Center, began in April 2025, with an anticipated opening in fall 2026.
How are gifts to Waynflete Forward designated?
The Waynflete Forward Campaign supports capital projects outlined in the Campus Framework Plan and The Waynflete Fund, ensuring we continue to have the flexibility and resources to support the day-to-day needs of the school while also raising funds for our capital projects (currently the Wellness and Athletics Center). As such, unless otherwise designated, gifts over $500 are split, with 80 percent support unrestricted gifts toward the Wellness and Athletics Center and 20 percent going toward The Waynflete Fund.
Can I designate my gift to a specific fund?
We appreciate working with our donors to understand their interests and help them direct their gifts within the school. While unrestricted giving enables us to direct funds where they are needed most, we know that donors have different giving priorities. Donors can always designate gifts to a specific fund.
When will the building be completed?
The first phase of the Campus Framework Plan is the Wellness and Athletics Center, which is scheduled to open in fall 2026. At that time, the school will evaluate its readiness to move into the second phase.
What are the parts of the Campus Framework Plan?
There are several phases to the Campus Framework Plan, including a Wellness and Athletics Center, a Campus Center, a remodeled Emery Building, a Middle School connector, and facilities updates for the performing arts. Learn more about these projects and their impact.
Can I make a multi-year pledge?
Yes. Gifts of over $10,000 or more can be made as multi-year pledges, covering up to a five-year period. Please contact the Development Office if you would like to make a multi-year pledge.
